- You start by filling out the "Getting
Started" form and submitting it to
me. I will review your project and get back to you via email within 6-24
hours.
- Once all of the particulars of your project are
agreed upon, you simply upload or email me an MP3 of your song. Here's what
your MP3 must contain...
- I need click track only on one stereo side
and your rough mix on the other stereo side.
- I'm going to play to the click, so it is
essential that your tracks be tight with the click in order for the song
to groove.
- I prefer a hi hat used for the click. So
if you have a choice, please make it hi hat.
- Upon receiving payment (see "Rates"
to make payments via PayPal),
I go to work on your project.
Dependent upon the time frame that we
have agreed upon, I will listen to and study your song before I dive
into recording. If you have a chart of some sort it will save me the time
of charting it, and will greatly expedite the project.
- Once I have recorded the song to my
satisfaction, I will upload or email it to you for your approval. I allow
for a maximum of two modifications.
- Upon your approval I upload or mail you a CD
of the work I have performed. Here's what you will receive from me (in the
sample rate, bit depth and file type of your choice)
- Raw tracks of your project. In the case of
programmed drums, this will include individual tracks of each instrument
used. In the case of live session drums, these will be unprocessed
tracks of bass drum, snare drum, hihat, tom 1, tom 2, tom 3, overhead mic
left and overhead mic right. If you are accustomed to programming midi
drums and drum samples, you may be surprised by what these tracks sound
like. There is much done in the mixing and processing stage to give the
live drums that professional studio sound. If you have the expertise and
the high-end outboard gear or plug-ins, you may choose to mix the raw
tracks yourself. But if not...
- I also include a stereo mix. At Studio
2b we use the high-end stuff
to give you a stereo mix that will give your song that session
sound. For live drums, in most cases, this will give you your best
results .
